So I am a little obsessed with my new favorite snack. I do not know how I thought to put these two things together but I am so happy I did. And on that note, if I happened to steal this idea off of you please let me know so I can thank you!

For the last 2 months I have been eating plain yogurt mixed with almond butter every day and it is divine! My usual go-to is nonfat Greek yogurt mixed with almond butter, but I have used traditional plain yogurt as well as sunflower seed butter and peanut butter and they are all fantastic. I mix it together and enjoy every bite.

I didn’t think it was that crazy of an idea, but people look at me like I am clearly nuts (which is possible but that is another topic!) as I mix my concoction together. So far everyone who has tried it has joined the fan club. It is a winner!

It is a balanced meal with protein, carbohydrates and fat and appropriate calories while keeping you satiated. You can’t really go wrong. It keeps me full for a good 3-4 hours so it is the perfect mini meal at home, work or on the go. It is also a great snack for kids!

When I am in a rush I always have on standby the individualized almond butter packets. They are pre-portioned nut butters that do not need refrigeration, do not have additives and are just perfect. I mix that with an individualized portion of yogurt and I am good to go.

Once I got on this kick I started realizing all these other ways I could mix things up using yogurt and nuts…

Some new favorites:

Oatmeal mixed with yogurt and a little almond butter
Quinoa topped with yogurt, fresh berries and pumpkin seeds
For dessert, almond butter mixed with jam for a little sweet

Now remember portion size! 2 Tablespoons is the appropriate portion size of a nut butter so don’t overdo it. Otherwise you can easily eat too many calories. You may only need 1 Tablespoon or 1 Teaspoon depending on what you are making.

Please let me know what you think. And if I stole this idea from you please let me know! I am eternally grateful.

Yum
