I get it. Life is busy and stressful. There are a lot of things we are all trying to accomplish in a day. So many of my clients tell me how difficult it is to change because they cannot seem to manage it all.

So how do you make it work? Make it work for YOU.

When you are going through the process of improving your lifestyle, whether it be losing weight, getting in shape, decrease pain and inflammation, improving your labs or simply just wanting to eat and live well, it is necessary to be clear on your goal.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Do you want to lose weight? Truly? Well, you may not be able to have all the wine you are drinking or eat dessert every night after dinner. I don’t mean celery sticks and water for the rest of your life but some place in the middle. Or maybe you are not willing to negotiate right now on wine or dessert. That’s okay, but you may not lose the weight as fast as you want.

Do you really want to lower your cholesterol or blood sugar? You may have to look at labels more clearly and change your eating habits. If that isn’t an option, what are you willing to do?

Do you really want to gain muscle? You have to lift weights! Do you enjoy strength training? What type of workout do you like? What would make the process more enjoyable?

Why all the questions? It is important to ask yourself these questions to figure out what it is you really want.

Start with thinking of a realistic goal. A goal that makes sense to you, is truly something you want and you are motivated to reach.

Then come up with a plan to help you reach that goal. A plan that is sustainable and doable. Set yourself up for success!

So…what do you want???
