A friend suggested today that it would be easier if we didn’t have to eat at all – if we could just get our nutrients in a pill or a drink and call it a day. We would be healthy and could focus on all our other obligations and not have to worry about eating, grocery shopping, cooking, doing the dishes… I am going to leave that conversation for another blog post but the whole discussion about “not eating” made me, well, it made me want to eat delicious, wholesome food! I mean isn’t that what it is all about? Enjoying a meal with friends and family – breaking bread? Growing and cooking your food? Learning about how cultures and food connect? Using nutrients to fuel our bodies? Clearly I have some opinions here…
